Crabs by the Seashore

AP Limited Editions presents a very special feature in Maki-e; crafted by one of our senior most Artists using unique techniques to create textures.

The crabs are created using Takamaki-e, Raden, and lead, highlighting the beauty of the materials. The shoreline is represented using the Seireinuri; (a marbling technique featuring patterns resembling dragonfly wings), and the Araidashi technique with flat gold powder which is a sprinkling and burnishing method that creates a textured, granular effect.
