In the hush of a lacquer atelier, where the scent of urushi mingles with time itself, we at AP Limited Editions celebrate our 20 years dedicated to Japanese Lacquer Art with a pen that transcends art and enters legend. Bathed in the quiet light of tradition, this exquisite creation captures the soul of Japan’s most poetic age. Upon deep black urushi, golden cranes stand in still grace among chrysanthemums and wildflowers, each form shaped in luminous togidashi maki-e, kinpaku gold, and veils of fine kirikane. Around them drift pines in gold and raden, their branches shimmering in all shades of shell — pink, pearl, and opal, glowing softly beneath the tranquil gaze of Mount Fuji, its silvered peak rising through layers of lacquered mist. A minka with a thatched roof rests nearby, evoking a world of serenity and timeless beauty, its surroundings glinting with delicate nashiji gold dust like stars on still water.
