Mythic Harmony weaves together the elegance of the crane and the power of the dragon—two revered symbols in Asian mythology—into a composition inspired by the intricate beauty of heritage tapestry.

The background is rendered in a rich interplay of gold powder and red urushi lacquer. Clouds and waves, outlined in gold, are filled with Nashiji powder, aogai (a radiant mosaic of seashells such as great green turban and abalone), additional gold powder, and colored urushi lacquer. These elements are then brought to a soft, luminous finish using the Togidashi Maki-e technique.

Emerging from this layered dreamscape, the dragon and cranes are depicted using the raised Takamaki-e technique—each detail echoing the woven threads and vibrant storytelling found in traditional tapestries. The dragon embodies strength and cosmic energy, while the cranes signify longevity and grace, together forming a scene of dynamic balance and mythic beauty.
