AP Limited Editions honors the charming Japanese tradition of celebrating female children in Hinamatsuri, a Spring festival where a platform decked in red cloth hosts several ornamental dolls dressed in colorful costumes from the Heian period that include an Emperor, Empress and musicians and attendants.

This vibrant fine writing instrument crafted in the highest level of Maki-e Lacquer Art, called Shishiai Togidashi using Nashiji gold powder and red urushi lacquer, along with, blue, and green colored urushi lacquer. Additionally, Kirikane, abalone shell, and silver-lipped pearl oyster shell bits are attached. The decorations, such as the figurines, are made with Takamaki-e, using gold and silver powders, which are fixed with colored urushi lacquer, as well as great green turban shell bits.
