This limited-edition Maki-e lacquer fountain pen presents the Grand Canyon framed by a condor in flight. Boundary patterns drawn in gold articulate the vast contours of the landscape, guiding the eye across immense layers shaped over time.

The limitless sky is crafted in silver and palladium powders sprinkled beneath white urushi, producing a striking luminosity that contrasts with the depth of the canyon below. Dried-urushi powders in red, blue, yellow, and white are applied in separate sections, building subtle variation and complexity across the terrain. The river is rendered in raden using great green turban shell, with its quiet iridescence cutting through the canyon as a continuous line of light.
