This limited-edition Maki-e lacquer art fountain pen is distinguished by its collaborative authorship, created by more than one artist working together on a single piece. Executed on a black urushi mirror finish ground, the highly polished surface provides a unified foundation for multiple artistic voices. The animals of the Chinese zodiac—Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig—are rendered in raised taka maki-e, each expressed in distinct colors and enriched with gold and metallic powders.
